Transformative Stillness

A virtual meditation experience led by Michael Murphy

December 11, 2021

Online Event via Zoom

Join us for a few peaceful hours of stillness meditation before the holiday season begins and 2021 comes to a close. Enjoy spacious periods of silence, gentle movement and insights about practice from Michael Murphy and our ITP circle. Time to refresh and renew!

At this special gathering, Michael will guide us into deep, nourishing stillness and engage in conversation about contemplative practice and our unfolding divinity.

Experience a "boundless space, or unbroken essence, that connects you with everything" and a new buoyancy and integration with the world at large.

Plunge into an altogether other dimension of existence from the sensible and

merely 'understandable' world. The unseen region in question is not merely ideal,

for it produces effects in this world.

Session Facilitator

Michael Murphy co-founded Integral Transformative Practice® with George Leonard after the two formed its first experimental class in 1992. His commitment to the human potential movement began as a student at Stanford University in the 50s, when he took a class taught by Frederic Spiegelberg, a professor of Comparative Religious Studies, inspiring a dedication to the study of philosophy and the practice of meditation. After graduating from Stanford, Michael spent over a year at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry, India in 1956. Returning back to California and inspired to explore the human potentialities, Michael and former Stanford classmate, Richard Price, co-founded the Esalen Institute, opening in 1962. Michael is the author of four novels: Golf in the Kingdom, The Kingdom of Shivas Irons, Jacob Atabet and An End to Ordinary History. His nonfiction works include: The Life We Are Given, In the Zone, and The Future of the Body: Explorations Into the Further Evolution of Human Nature.
