Robert Noha

Sensei Robert “Bob” Noha is a 7th-degree Aikido black belt and the founder and chief instructor of Aikido of Petaluma. He began training in 1966 and soon formed a lifelong connection with Robert Nadeau, Shihan, a direct student of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido.

Bob has taught Aikido for more than five decades, opening dojos across the country, including the first Aikido school in Washington, D.C., before returning to the San Francisco Bay Area to continue his training and teaching. He received his 7th-degree black belt in 2025 with recommendations from Shihans Bill Witt and John Stevens.

In addition to Aikido, Bob has been a dedicated student and teacher of T’ai Chi since 1972 and brings experience in Judo, Kenpo Karate, Pa Kua Chang, Hsing-I, and western boxing to his teaching and practice.
